The pandemic strikes again.

Point Pelee National Park announced yesterday that their 2021 Festival of Birds has been cancelled as part of an ongoing effort to limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health and safety of Canadians.

The Festival of Birds is one of the regions biggest draws. Point Pelee National Park is located at the crossroads of major migration routes and sees thousands birdwatchers from around the world flock to it each May to see the thousands of birds which come to the park along their journey.

There is some good news, however. In the coming months, Point Pelee National Park will be launching a full list of virtual events for folks to enjoy. Also, the park remains open but with reduced vehicle access, parking and visitor services.
