Category: Activities.
Added by: www.windsoreats.com
Bring your book, your knitting, or your laptop (wireless high speed Internet available) and enjoy a quiet afternoon of lakeside breezes.
Working with enthusiastic students, you will:
- welcome visitors to the John R. Park Homestead Conservation Area museum
- collect admission donations and sell small items in the gift shop (training will be provided)
- chat with an average 20 to 30 visitors each day
There is no need to walk long distances, wear a hot period costume or to memorize a lot of facts - that's what the students are for. This is the perfect position for someone who likes to host guests, and is knowledgeable about the local area.
Refreshments are provided and you will lots of time to enjoy the quiet and catch up with your reading or paperwork.
When: Sundays or holiday Mondays when the Homestead is open but does not have a special event, May through October, 10 am to 4 pm. (Shorter noon to 3:30 pm shifts are also available). Some 2010 dates coming up: July 11, Aug 1, 2, 15, 22, 29; Sept. 5, 6, 12, 19, 26.
Time Commitment: We ask volunteers to commit to working a minimum of two Sundays a year.
Where: the Homestead is located at 915 County Road 50 East, Harrow, on the shore of Lake Erie. www.erca.org and click "conservation areas".
