This juried exhibition pulls from the studios of craft artists across the southwestern Ontario region, displaying a diverse array of media and methodologies, with the intent of championing innovation, originality and the highest standards and qualities in the craft market.

Uumajut: Symbols of Spiritual Power
July 17 – September 5, 2010
The spiritual beliefs of the Inuit and Cape Dorset peoples pervade every aspect of their culture. They were shaped by their need to obtain food and to face the extreme and unpredictable forces in their environment and as a result, all things, whether living or inanimate had spirits. This exhibition pulls from the AGW's extensive historical archives of Inuit works and highlights those pieces concerned with the notion of the "living spirit".
This exhibition is organized by the AGW and curated by Mandy Salter.
Join us for a reception for Masterworks Southwest and Uumajut on:
Friday, August 20th, 7-10PM, a Fridays Live! event.
